History: Early Age Info

Original: Just curious on some dates, I saw it posted somewhere a while back, but can't fin it now.

When did the Age of Kings begin? What event heralded it's beginning? The turning occurred in 1099 Age of Kings yes? Cambruin was crowned in 1066?

I've seen it written that the War of Tears began at he "dawning" of the age of kings. Cambruin fought in this war. Does that mean the war lasted over 1000 years? Wow.

So, that's my bucket of confusion. Any answers? I'm putting together some historical things for my guild, I wanna make sure it fits in with Shadowbane's lore.

Answer: Your dates are correct: Cambruin was crowned High King in 1066KY (King's Year, the designation Humans give to years in the Age of Kings), and the Age of Kings ended at the Turning, which came in 1099KY. Cambruin died in his early fifties.

The Age of Kings began when the All-Father departed from Aerynth after the end of the War against Chaos, leaving the World in the capable hands of Humanity. Bear in mind that even though the All-Father was not present, he was still "available" through prayer and augury.

The War of Tears began early in the Tenth Century KY (900 teens or so). It lasted nearly two centuries, but there was a pretty big break between the early stage (when the Elves pretty much ruined the Ten Kingdoms) and the later stage (when Cambruin ruined them in return).

There you have it, for now. Big Timelines of each age will hopefully be forthcoming soon
