History: End of Days

Original: How can there ever be a End of days? Unless this is part of your plan incase a guild becomes to strong and eventually takes over a whole world or multiple worlds, you go back to this story and use the dragon to whipe away all they have and set every one back to no cities, basicly.. would be a interresting way of dealing with it.

Anyway I really liked the way they showed/described the details of the elves fighting the dragon, with the massive loads of arrows, the lightning spells I think this was the first time they've really discussed anytype of spells or described them :). "Fire and lightning exploded forth" bolts maybe. Heh I picture a bunch of blade weavers (remembering the movie) all going at a dragon doing that spinning/slashing thing just kinda ammusing for the imagination I supose.

Anyway, the dragon seems to be a bit to powerful, even the All-father has difficulty and seems to be a bit bayed by the dragon, isn't the All-father creater of all, wouldn't he know he was making somthing even larger/more powerful then himself and not do somthing that could kill him and seal his fate? Interresting twist, then again the All-father did subdue him and maybe we get to see the All-father one day if that is their inevitable idea for the dragon is to have him slay a guild that becomes overpowering. *imagination wonders in awe at the idea of the all-father*

Answer: How can there be an End of Days?

Well, lots of ways... One of the primary themes that keeps coming up again and again in the Legend of Shadowbane and the SB backstory in general is that NOTHING is eternal. The World had its golden age... and it passed. That said, I wouldn't worry about fighting or fleeing from the Dragon anytime soon, though. The Dragon isn't a god so much as a cosmic force - something on the order of the All-Father in power. When it wakes up, bad bad things will happen. The inevitability of that doom is very Norse, and very very cool. So take heart - we at WP won't wake up the Dragon and throw it into the mix until well into the ongoing storyline, and never just "to shake things up" - it's far too big of a gun for that. When the Dragon returns, the moment will definitely be meaningful.

So don't worry, but just don't forget - it IS down there, and it WILL wake up. And then will come Ragnarok.
