I’m overjoyed to see all of the developments on Mourning, and at how voraciously all of you are keeping the Lore alive. Also, your Guild background sounds wonderful to me ? Prekh’labar was the opener of the gate. Her name meant something like “clever serpent” if I recall. Perhaps you are the Clan of the Serpent, or something.

Kirel only has certain pieces of the puzzle. Bear in mind that at the Turning, the Sun darkened. The only time it had ever done this before was when Khalikryst came down from the sky to transform the Irekei. The Sun has yet to lighten again ? therefore, it would seem Khalikryst is wandering somewhere. But where is she? What is she doing?

Kirel’s theory about Uvoriel is very intriguing. Bear in mind also that at the Burned Prophet FC events we did, one of the prophecies the Dragon uttered was that the “Mother of the Irekei has abandoned them.” This also implies that Khalikryst has left her station, and if she is wandering, it’s unlikely any Devilmen have heard from her. Putting on a mask and misleading a huge Human faction into being agents of Chaos while screaming their adulation for the All-Father at the top of their lungs strikes me as a pretty devious scheme. Anyone who thinks that Morloch is SBs only devious deceiver is in for a rude awakening.

Now. Let’s presume this is all true (I can’t, of course, confirm)…

The delusions of the Rain Bleeders need not have any impact on your clan and its goals. In fact, it may give you another lore-based agenda. If Khalikryst has abandoned the Irekei, why has she done so? Is it a test? Has she passed judgment, and found them wanting? Perhaps your clan seeks to find her, or to cleave with the Old Way and follow your mother instead of your father.

Also, the ambiguity over Khalikryst’s origins or true identity need not concern you either. Whether she be a Demon born of Chaos (the typical Irekei consensus) or Volliandra transformed, it was the Dragon that put her there, either by Calling her or transforming her. It doesn’t matter what she was, look to what she is: the Sun. Who made the Sun? Kryqho’khalin. His very name confirms it. The fire that transformed the Khalinviri into Irekei was the Dragon’s fire, just one step removed. Indeed, had the Flame of the Terror touched the Irekei without the divine “filter,” the Khalinviri would doubtless have been destroyed. The venom of the Manticore kills quickly if you drink it, but if one eats the liver of a jackal killed by manticore venom, the poison instead gives visions. It is the same with the Transforming Fire, or so say the Blood Prophets.

If Khalikryst has an agenda (a safe bet), it is hers, not Volliandra’s. If she has seduced Malorn, she has done it to destroy him, and Humanity.
