Draethen: Draethen and the Jen'e'tai

Draethen and the Jen'e'tai

Hey all!

I'm going to take advantage of an unexpected burst of free time to spice the pot a little...

The fable that comprises the Bladeweaver Lore (Errandir's note: I think he meant Blademaster) was very old indeed - Malorn compiled it (and likely did some King James-style revision to it) when he composed the Book of Swords, but the story is far older - it goes back to the Hidden Kingdom, where the Sons of Men regrouped after escaping from slavery.

This was before the great diaspora that scattered the races of Men, so the progenitors of the Iryndu (think Africa/central Asia) and the Howrathi (think Asia) still dwelt with the Ethyrians and Gwendannen (think Europeans and Celts).

When the cultures split off from each other, some common threads remained. I imagine that most of the modern philosophy and practice of Blade Mastery was devised in the Hidden Kingdom - the discipline is, in effect, an Eastern art ill remembered by the Ethyrians.

Perhaps someday an expansion will take us beyond the Horwathi steppes, and we can see what great secrets of the jen'e'tai have been preserved in the remote east...

Note that, however the discipline got started, none of the above information should lend validity to either the Blademaster or Bladeweaver lore! After all, since the Hidden kingdom came after the escape from slavery, what I just said jives with both of them...

If I were to endorse one over the other, I would not be doing my job!
